What are your plans for New Year's Eve? Are you excited? Is this the same thing you did last year for New Year's Eve or something new?
How was your Christmas? What did you do on Christmas day? Who were you with? What was your favorite present? What did you look like when you opened your favorite present? What do you want to do next year for Christmas?
What is the best gift you have ever received? Who gave you the gift? What made it so special?
What is the best gift you have ever given? Who did you give it to? What made it so great?
It's time to write a list of your favorites... there is a song from the movie "The Sound of Music" and it is called "My Favorite Things." Some of the lyrics are "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, Brown paper packages tied up with strings, These are a few of my favorite things."
What are your favorite things? Answer these questions (write a list): 1. What is your favorite dessert? 2. What is your favorite movie? 3. What is your favorite resturant? 4. What is your favorite girl name? What is your favorite boy name? 5. What is your favorite thing to do when you're at home? 6. What is your favorite book? 7. What is your favorite toy? 8. What is your favorite thing to do with your mom? 9. What is your favorite thing to do with your dad? DO NOT WRITE YOUR NAME!! This blog will be anonymous, so students can say what they want to say (but it has to be appropriate!). For this blog I would like you to write something you've always wanted to say. It could be something you want to tell the class, but never have the time to at school. Maybe there is something you're scared of and you wonder if other people are scared of it too (so you could ask a question). Or it could be an idea that you have that you want to tell other people about. Is there something that you are really excited about? Perhaps there is a resturant that is your favorite resturant and you want everyone to know that it is a great resturant and everyone should eat there. Are you mad about something? Do you wish you could change something? Why? These are all ideas.
What is the most important event that has happened in your life? Why is that event important? I want you to talk to your parents about your idea before you write it. They might have some other ideas or could help you remember other events that you forgot.
For this blog I want you to think of something FUN we could do in our classroom. It has to be something that Miss Holly would actually let us do (so there has to be some learning involved). It can be a holiday craft, learning a dance, having someone from the community come in and speak to us, the ideas are endless. If you say we should do a craft or learn a dance, you have to explain the craft or the dance so we know how to do it. Your job is to think of an idea, and then I will try to see if we can make your idea happen!
